The Mechanics, Materials and Machine Parts deals with a development of scientific knowledge of material engineering, Finite Element Method (FEM), mechanics of materials, reliability and diagnostics of materials. Our knowledge is mainly applied to transport means and transport structures.
Our scientific goal is currently oriented at
- processes of dynamic contact of metalic parts (ie. „rail/railway wheel “ problem),
- material research in the field of transport means and infrastructure,
- fatigue strength and working life of transport means and infrastructure parts,
- FEM study of thin-wall structures.
